Soccer Party!

D chose a World Cup soccer party to celebrate his 7th birtday.

He decorated his own cake as the US flag.
He did a great job!!
Of course, there was a soccer ball pinata.

All the cousins attended and were very good sports about participating in the "soccer" activities.
Pinata time!
Blowing out the candles.

D tries out his new castor board. (It's fun...I tried it myself!)

First Day of School

The first day of school had some extra activity not on the assignment sheets. L woke up at 4Am vomitting so that was the start of my day. She eventually fell back asleep as it was time for me to get up. She was lethargic during the day but was still able to do her school work. D had already been sick over the weekend so thankfully he was on the mend. E seems to have missed the bug. I, however, managed to feel the effects of the bug right at lunch time at which point I started to go downhill. So, school ended by 1:30 when I collapsed into bed and asked my husband to come rescue us. Thankfully the bug is shortlived and 24 hours later, we are back on our feet again.
D, my second grader
L, my kindergartener
E, my preschooler

Last day of summer

The last day of summer was an official "Pajama Day." We also saved our most fun craft for the last. The kids painted outside (yes it was over 100 degrees but we were in the shade and they didn't even notice the heat).
L makes a person.
D starts with grass.
E uses as many colors as possible.
D's masterpiece!
L's creative creation!
E's colorful artwork!

Summer Vacation

We had a great vacation in Austin. We were there five full days, time for fun in the sun!!
We always spend time looking for the best rocks to throw into the lake. L is carefully choosing.
We spent lots of time swimming in the lake. Part of the fun was jumping off the dock.
D jumps...
and lands!
Many "wars" were fought on the mats.
E could stand up!
D built a marina for his boats.
The girls relax at the water's edge.
More water fun!
Grandpa took us on a hike for something different. We all enjoyed it and are looking forward to the next hike.
E wore her glasses most of the hike! Not sure what's up with L in this picture.
Grandpa led the way.
Rosales family at the trail head.
These are actually walking sticks. Yes, I know, hard to believe!
Looking for the lake from up on the mountain.
Then, of course, we had pool time.
The two big kids hang on grandpa.
Papi sends E flying.
L looks graceful even doing the "helicopter"
D perfects the "helicopter"
