Jack-o-lantern

The kids had been waiting for this moment since our visit to the first pumpkin patch. It's finally time to carve the jack-0-lantern. We are ready...we think...

E just couldn't get close enough so we finally put her on top of the table.
We finished our jack-0-lantern and put the candle inside. Poor E was quite scared of our final poduct! She did sit in front for the picture, but she made sure we knew she was NOT pleased!

The big kids were very pleased with the completed Jack-o-lantern.

I found these really fun orange jack-o-lantern cookies that I just knew would complete the night so I bought them. The kids did enjoy them and they helped cheer E up again!

Despite being new to this world of blogging, I have been tagged by Johanna. So, I've done my best to comply with the rules of blogging and tagging.

10 years ago: I was teaching first grade bilingual at Berry Elementary here in Arlington. I was engaged to Paul who was still living in Guatemala due to the fact that he could not get a visa to enter the USA. Little did I know that he was about to get his fiance visa and come to the United States at which point we would have three months to plan a wedding and get married.

Things on today's to do list:
1. Run at the gym
2. Clean our bathroom
3. Clean the kitchen
4. Cancel a hair appointment
5. Take cheese & tortillas out for dinner (quesadillas)

Snacks I enjoy:
1. Fiber One Bars (the caramel taste just like butterscotch chips)
2. Banana with peanut butter
3. Kit Kats, M&M's, Milk Chocolate Chocolate Chips (you get the idea)
4. Starbucks Tall Decaf Skinny Caramel Latte

Five things I'd do if I were a millionaire:
1. Buy a house my family could fit in, complete with a school room and exercise/computer/everything room and pay cash for it
2. Put aside money for kids' college educations
3. Invest for future
4. Give great quantities of money to the missionaries we support
5. Buy my husband a BMW (his dream car!)

Just one

E came to me and showed me that she had gotten out a wet wipe. I had obviously neglected to put them away. Instead of fighting the issue, I just said, "Okay, but just one." Apparently I did not explain myself very clearly.

The next time I looked, this is what I saw. I had meant that E could HAVE "just one" wet wipe. She understood that she should LEAVE "just one" wet wipe in the container.

She was having a grand time sliding off the hearth into her pile of wet wipes.

And it was QUITE a pile!!!

He Loves Me, he loves me not, HE LOVES ME!

During school this morning, I heard a knock on our door. When I glanced out, this is what I saw.
Closer inspection revealed THIS box!!

THESE TWO DOZEN ROSES are what I found inside!! Unfortunately these pictures do not do them justice!
I just have to brag on my husband!!! He is, without a doubt, the best, loving, most caring husband in the world who decided to send flowers just so that I don't forget how much he loves me.

Officially a SPARK

D has been attending Awana at a church just about two minutes from our home. It has been a great experience for him to be with other kiddos, memorize scripture and just have some fun. Last week he came home wearing this vest, his official Spark vest. All children are strongly encouraged to wear their "uniforms" to Awana each week. When D first heard about this, he adamantly exclaimed that he would NOT be wearing a vest. Peer pressure means very little to him! We'll see what happens this week when it's time to get ready for Awana...vest or no vest?

Reasons to have your picture taken

One of L's most repeated questions is: "Mommy, will you take my picture?" There are so many reasons to have your picture taken and just in case you need some, I'll share a few of L's reasons with you...

I'm dressed for church and look so pretty!

My sister and I are dressed alike!
I want Papi to see how I look today.
I made a princess crown at school.
I'm wearing tights!
Look! My sister and I have matching slippers!

Don't Try This at Home!

Ever wondered what it would be like vaccuming a very small area with three children running circles around you? I beg you not to give in to that temptation to give it a try and just take my word. It's insane!!

Not only did I have three small children running circles around me and the vaccum as I was attempting to clean my VERY small house, but L decided to empty the ball tub just as I commenced the chore so I had the added challenge today of dodging small bouncy balls flying around the room. Please keep in mind that each child had 2-3 balls each! Did I mention "insane"?

Sorry I have no pictures to post of this insane activity. I had no extra hands to hold a camara as I was dodging balls and childen while trying to push the vaccum!

Fuzzy Friends

Since E doesn't sleep with covers yet, we pulled out her fuzzy blanket sleeper to keep her warm at night! L was so excited about the soft, shiny PJ's that we dug hers out of the closet as well.



I think it's just so much fun to dress my girls alike. Thankfully, they think it's fun also!!

The truth of the evening is that L wore her blanket sleeper long enough to take pictures and then she was back to her favorite pink nighty which is looser fitting.

Oh well, we got some cute pics!

Homeschool recess

When you homeschool, recess takes on a whole new look!

L's hair is evidence of several unsuccessful tries before this one.

New to Blogging

This is my first blog so as a novice, I imagine it will take me some time to
get adjusted. I have been encouraged (very strongly by my husband) to start a blog so that I can share our family craziness/pictures. So, here goes...

The kiddos and I headed to our first pumpkin patch of the season this week. I love October because it's so fun to take the kids to a big field of pumpkins and just let them go. Our first pumpkin patch was small, but we made the best of it. We packed a picnic lunch and ran around pumpkins until naptime.

Fun hay maze, just perfect for little ones to run through.

The kiddos did get to each choose a pumpkin. Thankfully they were happy with baby 75 cent ones and a promise of a big pumpkin at a later date!
