Dance Recital

The girls' dance recital was a huge success.
 They both danced beautifully.
 The did ballet
 and tap.

The girls got ribbons for attendance at dance camp and medals and pins for their years at The Dance Connection.
Grandma and Grandpa came to the show.  We gave the girls flowers after the recital.

Field Trip to the Dallas Zoo

We took advantage of Home School Day at the Zoo!!  We convinced our friends to go with us and had a great day!
I wonder if the kids didn't enjoy the non-living attractions more than the living ones...

This giraffe was amazing.  We were at a feeding station for the giraffes.  That is E with the elastic in her hair in the white shirt petting the giraffe.  INCREDIBLE!!
And...back to the non-living attractions. We spent so long at these elephant statues.
Below our friend, N, has his hand out gesturing his amazement that L climbed up on the elephant unassisted and how in the world did she accomplish that!??!
E stands on a smaller elephant.
Here is D with his two friends.

 Ready to hunt eggs...

It was sprinkling so daddy was staying dry.

Counting eggs...we didn't want to miss any!

Camping

While daddy traveled to the UK for business, we went camping with grandma and grandpa.
Our site was on this great hill that the kids could ride their bikes down at neck-breaking speed!!

Grandma and grandpa didn't participate in the downhill races, but they did ride through the park with us!
 D brought his castor board.
 E had her skateboard.
We had two legged wobbly visitors.
The kiddos would often go in the tent to play with "new" toys, compliments of their cousins who had outgrown them.
 You can't camp without s'mores!

 Mmmmmmm
Somebody always had dish duty with grandpa.
Grandma was a great entertainer.  Here she's playing Uno.
 We got to fly kites!

 We even had reading time.
And got to take bluebonnet pictures as the field right next to our campsite was full of bluebonnets.

Every day we rode our bikes to the park.  Some days we played on the equipment. Other days we played tag.
And on the last day, grandma and the kids got in the sand and found many treasures!

After our fun at the park, we'd ride our bikes back to the campsite.
