First Game of the Season

D had his first soccer game of the season. It's so fun to see him playing again the sport he loves more than anything! He has the same coach as last season and a few of the same players.
D started on offense and is just waiting here for the game to start!
D was in the action from the beginning, keeping the ball on the opponents side the whole time. They are lining up for a goal kick.
D's team actually won the game 5-0 so I'm not sure if this was one of those goals or not!
Goalie...nothing makes me more nervious than D playing goalie!! Here Papi is getting him ready...
and he's off! D loves to be goalie!!
Papi gives a few last minute instructions.
D didn't have much to do as goalie, but a couple times he saw some action and he jumped right in and saved the ball! It's such a joy watching him play.
We had a special treat for D's first game...grandma and grandpa were in town and able to attend. Grandpa kept tabs on the game while Grandma kept up with the girls (allowing me to watch the game). Here the girls are with grandma and one of their friends whose brother plays with D.
The girls had so much more freedom than normal becuase I usually want to see the game so they have to stay right on the sidelines with me. However, with grandma in attendance, they could run wild.
I love this picture!! All three girls are headed in different directions! So funny!

Karate Kid

This past Saturday P had to work so the girls and I took D to karate. It was fun to watch.
He's so little compared to everyone. There is one other boy his size but all the rest are considerably bigger.

D practices his self-defense.
Now it's D's turn to attack.

Tumbling Tots

L just finished doing a four week tumbling class. It was a bit chaotic for me, but she loved wearing her leotard!!

Happy Birthday to You!!!

Four Years Old!!!
We celebrated L's birthday with a tea party with all her cousins. She chose Lil' Smokie Sausages and Bar B Q sauce for her tea party. She specifically stated she did NOT want sandwiches!
The girls started the party by decorating hats with flowers.
Hot gluing required much concentration.
The girls also made candy jewlery.
Grandma helped E string her candy for her necklace.
Meanwhile the boys worked in the garage on their "boy craft."
D chose for the boys to make a fighter plane.
Next was the Fill the Tea Cup Relay.
We had two teams and they raced to fill their tea cups with Chocolate Kisses.
Next was Tea Party Bingo.
Thankfully L won one of the Bingo Games.
No Rosales Birthday Party is complete without a pinata.
D takes a swing!
E was very hesitant to participate in the activites, but she finally did pick up some candy after the pinata fell.
Going for the good stuff...
All the cousins!
L waits while we sing Happy Birthday!

L finally gets to blow out her four candles.

Two wheeling

The kids have been playing outside lots lately due to this beautiful weather we've been having. I had not heard from E in some time yesterday so I went outside to investigate. This is what I found...
She is working so hard that she has no idea I'm taking her picture.
Check out the handle bars!!
I know that if her legs had been a tag longer or the seat lower, she would have taken off!
Somehow she's gotten the handle bars turned around and her feet on the peddles and I've been spotted!

Valentine's Party

Today was L's Valentine Party at school. I was asked to coordinate the party. WOW! A room of 16 three years is not my cup of tea! I can organize and plan, but to actually be in that room and see chaos...yikes!! Thankfully it went well, the kids had fun and I am done.
Every time we discuss L's party prior to today, she asked if she could wear a dress. I prefer that she wear tennis shoes to school for the stability that they provide so it was a BIG DEAL for her to wear a dress. She was so excited and looked beautiful!
Without fail, if L gets to wear tights and a dress, then E figures she also gets to. We ran into a slight problem as I did not realize just how small E's church shoes were. I finally bought her tennis shoes at the beginning of the week, but it never crossed my mind to check her church shoes. Well, today when I pulled them out, I realized they were TWO WHOLE sizes too small. Oops...off to the shoe bag to find some hand-me-downs. We had to change the dress to match the shoes I found but the important part was that she DID get to wear tights and a dress!
D wanted to dress nice for the party so he chose his red shirt considering it was a Valentine's Party
Bows, dresses, tights and church shoes...nothing makes my girls happier!
I included this picture to remind myself (as if I could forget) that I do have THREE children, even if they don't all want to pose for pictures at the same time.
I just love this pic of my big kids!
Musical Chairs at the party. No, D is not part of the SuperStar class, but he opted to join right in.
E, on the other hand, found a baby and planted herself by my side!
