Birthday Lunch

L's birthday lunch with her grandma and grandpa was a much anticipated event!
We decorated
She helped decorate her cake
She chose to put a tiara on the top of her cake....that's my kind of decorating!
L chose the lunch menu...sandwiches, pickels, baked chips and fruit salad.
Her grandparents gave her "princess shoes" (heels)
She has concluded that these princess shoes match everything...even her PJs. Yes, she has had them on constantly in the house! I have yet to let her out of the house in them. Although, I have to admit that she has done amazingly well walking in them!
E helped open the gift she gave L
Bunny ears!
D chose lip gloss and also made her a necklace.
Then it was cake time!

Let's Pretend Tea Party

In lieuof a 6th birthday party, we took L to Let's Pretend Tea Party for some girly time with her sister, grandma and mommy.
We had a blast. First the girls picked out costumes to wear.
Grandma got in on the fun!
E wore wings the whole time. She even changed them out to a different set of wings in the middle of the fun.
Mommy had to try some stuff on as well.
Then it was "spa" time.
Fingernails, make-up,
glitter and wa-la! Two princesses!
Let the tea party begin!
The girls added sugar cubes to their tea
Oh, and they each chose a ring.
Last, but not least, the up-dos!
Here's the final product...

and L got a twirly-do...

Princesses!
Happy Birthday my (almost) six year old!

My 3 Monkeys enjoying the weather

After 16 degree temps and ice last week, we have been loving this 70 degree weather we are currently experiencing. The kids grabbed their sunglasses and short-sleeve shirts and headed outside for some sun and fun!

Valentine's Day

Although D thought Valentine's Day should indicate a day off from school, we continued with our "normal" schedule. We did, however, have a little gift for the kids once school was over.
Here they are waiting to open their gift
D actually decided to wait until Papi got home to open his gift, but the girls had no qualms about opening their gifts without Papi.
Ready to go....
Oooooh....look....
"Yep, just what I thought."
D actually knew what he was getting. I had left my receipt on the counter a few days ago, not thinking about it as it was a long receipt with many items listed. About 2/3 of the way down, it listed Nerf Darts. Well, my son who reads everything (and I mean literally everything) read my receipt and asked me about the nerf darts. I tried to evade the questions, but he was too smart and had it all figured out.
Thankfully, he was still pleased with the gift.
And the girls were completely thrilled!

Party Time!

We enjoy home schooling and wouldn't do things any other way right now, but I do also love the experiences my children have in the more "traditional" school settings such as Valentine Parties! E got to have a Valentine Party at her preschool today. She was so excited. I got to be there to share in the fun!
Ready for some treats...
E sits at the table with some of her friends. She adores Audrey, the girl in white.
E shows me her Valentine bag...
and all the goodies inside.

Let it snow!

We finally got our snow in Texas!!!
Midnight before the snow was marred by footprints
Our backyard covered in snow
Ready to play (it's super bright which explains the squinting)
We had great intentions of "sledding"
The snow was so powdery, we actually slid more on the cardboard than the snow. Here is L...
There goes D....
Last but not least, E...
