Zoo Run

Big Day for us....it was the Zoo Run!!!

P's mom (Abuelita) was visiting and got to join us as we left the house at 6AM so we could make it in time for the race. I got to run the 10K first.
Then it was the "boys'" turn...their first 5K!!!

They were ready!
So many people, but there they are in the middle.
D is coming in...
and he pushed hard to the finish!
P was wiped out, but D looked like it had been a walk in the park. Amazing!!
Then all three kiddos got their face or arm painted. Here is E with her unicorn.
D got a snake on his arm. Very cool!

Spring Break

When Paul headed to the UK, the kids and I headed in the opposite direction to Austin to visit grandma and grandpa for a few days.
Grandpa had a project for the kiddos to do.
They love the one on one time with their grandpa.
And it doesn't hurt that they have something to show for their hard work.
We were pretty excited to head to the dock for a boat ride.

The kids tested out the water on their feet.
E carries on an animated conversation with her grandma.
Enjoying the boat ride.
And then my crazy children got in the very cold water.
Each time going deeper and deeper
Until they were jumping off the back of the boat completely submerging themsevles in the frigid water.
Afterwards they warmed up in the cabin of the boat.

Birthday Lunch

L's birthday lunch with her grandma and grandpa was a much anticipated event!
We decorated
She helped decorate her cake
She chose to put a tiara on the top of her cake....that's my kind of decorating!
L chose the lunch menu...sandwiches, pickels, baked chips and fruit salad.
Her grandparents gave her "princess shoes" (heels)
She has concluded that these princess shoes match everything...even her PJs. Yes, she has had them on constantly in the house! I have yet to let her out of the house in them. Although, I have to admit that she has done amazingly well walking in them!
E helped open the gift she gave L
Bunny ears!
D chose lip gloss and also made her a necklace.
Then it was cake time!

Let's Pretend Tea Party

In lieuof a 6th birthday party, we took L to Let's Pretend Tea Party for some girly time with her sister, grandma and mommy.
We had a blast. First the girls picked out costumes to wear.
Grandma got in on the fun!
E wore wings the whole time. She even changed them out to a different set of wings in the middle of the fun.
Mommy had to try some stuff on as well.
Then it was "spa" time.
Fingernails, make-up,
glitter and wa-la! Two princesses!
Let the tea party begin!
The girls added sugar cubes to their tea
Oh, and they each chose a ring.
Last, but not least, the up-dos!
Here's the final product...

and L got a twirly-do...

Princesses!
Happy Birthday my (almost) six year old!
