Parade of Lights

We love traditions and one of the ones we talk about all year is the Parade of Lights!

Gingerbread houses

Every year we decorate Gingerbread Houses. I had figured we couldn't afford three separate Gingerbread houses this year, but yet I hated to give up our tradition. I was thrilled when I found a mini village for the price of just one house. Yes, the houses are mini, but they were perfect for us. Below is our village. As soon as Papi and I decorate our houses, it'll be a complete village.

E chose the challet and she is ready.

Each piece of candy was purposefully placed on the challet.

D chose to decorate the church.

Her finished decorated house showed her creativity. I love watching E use her imagination! God has truly gifted her in this area.

Thanksgiving

Since our turkey meal was to be on Saturday this year, we were able to spend the actual Thanksgiving day in a non-traditional way. I was so excited because I have wanted to do this for so long, yet it's never worked out.

We had the opportunity to serve at Mission Arlington. Here we are ready to go.
We stood in line with lots of other people also waiting to serve. After about 1 1/2 hours we were given our assignment.
We gathered the turkeys and food boxes and delivered them to two different houses. It didn't seem like much, but I'm so glad we got to participate as a family!
