Six Inches and Counting

Amazing...here we are in Texas with six inches of snow and more falling. It has fallen all day and continues still. I still can't believe it!!!
We woke to a white scene...
This is how it looked at 8AM.
Here it is about 2PM and the snow continues still at 8PM.
It only took us one hour (yes, one hour) to get ready to go out in the snow. We are finally bundled and ready to go. Unfortunately, living in Texas, we have no appropriate clothing so we must be creative in our layering.
E catches snowflakes on her tongue.
Our first snowman.
Measuring the snow.
Eating lemonade snow cones made with REAL SNOW!
Stormy loved the snow but wasn't too pleased when I asked her to sit.
Snow bear and baby snow man.
The girls only lasted about 30 minutes and then came inside to wrap up and warm up.
D, on the other hand, lasted about 1 hour, 40 min. He had so much fun. I tried to get a picture of how big the flakes were, but it was super hard to get them to show up. Anyways, they were huge and so beautiful. D and I had fun playing! He outlasted me in the snow!

D is baptized!!

D got baptized today! It was the fulfillment of a prayer prayed for many years. He had accepted Christ over two years ago and when the oppotunity arrived for him to be baptized, he was ready.
P actually got to baptize him!
P had to hold him up becuase he couldn't reach the ground and he kept going under. It was quite funny!
D really wanted his daddy to be the one to baptize him.
Our church does a big celebration for Children Baptisms and each child gets a cake of their own.

Grandma and Grandpa and some of the cousins were able to attend which was super special!!! We were so grateful to them for sacrificing activities in order to attend D's baptism.

Fun with the cousins!

I had to admit how overdue these pictures are. Our Colorado relatives visited us last month and I 'm just now getting the pictures up on the blog! The cousins had never met before so it was great fun watching them interact.
P and his brother enjoyed being together! They are just hams, the two of them!
When the weather finally got warm enough, we ventured out to a park for the kids to play!
Here D is with his uncle and cousin and some random boy who joined the picture!
Once little D warmed up to P, they had fun together!
L had so much so fun feeding little L.
D also took a turn.
We got to babysit little D one night. We put the kids together in the bath and watched them play.
Bathtime was complete with fancy/spikey hairdos!
Little D had a blast!
On the last night, the kids all got to bathe again and this time little L joined in the fun.
Let's jus say that E and Little D did not choose each other as their favorite cousin. Here you can see Little D pouring water on E's back and....
here is E's reaction...not happy!
L loved helping/holding Little L...she is such a mommy!
Ready to return to Colorado, P gets one last opportunity to hold Little L!

NOT lacking in self-esteem

Me: L, you know I really like you?
L: Yeah. Why?
Me: Well, you are so kind to people and know how to make people feel better. You really pay attention to what is important to other people and use that to encourage them. For example, with E the other day...
L: But mommy, don't you think I'm cute?!??!
Me: Well, yes, of course!

Ummmm?

D asks L: Who is the cutest person you know?
L: ME!
D: No, besides you.
L: God?

Still working on our theology...

Loving Stormy

We are so enjoying our newest Rosales. E can't keep her hands off Stormy! She follows her everywhere with her hand on her back. She is most definitely the most attached!

Stormy lets the kids do anything they want with her. Here D is playing doctor with Stormy.
Advent suddenly become more interesting with a dog in the picture. She had to sit in the middle and somebody had a hand on her at all times, just loving her.
Our first day with Stormy at the house was a dream come true for D.
However, as I said, it's E who has become most attached!

Merry Christmas!

Stockings
Our new family member lines up for the Stocking picture.

Trying to take a "family picture" has become even more difficult.
Our newest member has been known to sneak a kiss during photo sessions and then act innocent while the victim is reduced to laughter and rolling on the floor leaving the rest of the family to wonder what happened!
Happy Birthday Jesus!
The kiddos shopped with Papi and each one chose a gift for me!
D tries on his soccer goalie gloves.
E with her baby doll gift.
D wanted a "real" soccer ball...a black and white one.
L tries on her new baby pouch.

Opening L's gift...a CD player
Listening to music on her new CD player.

Can you do this????
