I noticed E carrying the step stool out of the downstairs bathroom and heading for the stairs...
Me: Ummm, E, where are you going with the step stool?
E: Upstairs. My feet are cold.
Me: But why do you need a step stool. Your slippers are on the floor of your closet.
E: No. Those don't keep my feet warm.
Me: Oh, well then get some socks from your drawer.
E: No. Those don't keep my feet warm.
Me: So then what are you going to get?
E: My sandals!
Oh, yes, of course, I always wear sandals when my feet are cold, don't you?!?!?!
AND, I use the downstairs step stool instead of the one that is just two door away to reach the top of my closet which is most definitely unreachable when you are 3, even with a step stool!

School in the daily
I do my best to incorporate "school" into everyday life. That way, the kids see it as totally normal. (Please don't tell them otherwise.) One thing we do is identify literary elements whenever possible.
The other night I was walking up the stairs with L to take her to bed. E had put several items on the steps to take up when she went to bed. As I stepped over E's items I said, "There is stuff on the steps." I paused and then asked, "What is that?"
D and L immediately responded "Alliteration!"
Well, E was close behind me coming up the steps and when she arrived she commented, "There is alliteration on the steps!"

Six Inches and Counting
Amazing...here we are in Texas with six inches of snow and more falling. It has fallen all day and continues still. I still can't believe it!!!
Here it is about 2PM and the snow continues still at 8PM.Sunday, February 7, 2010
D is baptized!!
D got baptized today! It was the fulfillment of a prayer prayed for many years. He had accepted Christ over two years ago and when the oppotunity arrived for him to be baptized, he was ready.

Fun with the cousins!
I had to admit how overdue these pictures are. Our Colorado relatives visited us last month and I 'm just now getting the pictures up on the blog! The cousins had never met before so it was great fun watching them interact.
