Doogoland

Life had become too serious so today was designated a FUN DAY!! Did I mention we have a buyer for our home and have found a home to buy. In light of that, we have been doing inspections, signing papers, papers and more papers, packing, packing some more. It's been insane!
So, we took a break from life and went to Doogoland! It is this great place for imaginative play. Our first time there was this morning and the kids had a blast!
D became an expert riding his easy roller and could manuver it incredibly well. This was his favorite part.

Doogoland had a gas station...
a beauty parlor
( The girls had so much fun fixing hair.)
The grocery store was a hit. E did some shopping
and then D was the checker for L who had already completed her shopping.
Despite the lack of tokens, L still had a blast in the game room.
Doogoland also had a dental office, cafe, lego/car room, tea room, hospital, construction zone, huge slide (E's favorite thing) and a car to drive (L's favorite part). It's a really cool place!

Putt Putt

Our public library has a reading program and for every reading log the children finish, they get to choose a coupon to a local establishment. All of the children chose putt putt on one occasion so after several failed attempts, we finally made it to putt putt. D had been once before, but this was the first time for both girls.
Here they are on the course...
D did great!! He actually played very well and we'll make a point to take him again (without the girls!!). He gave Paul a run for his money with how well he played so they'll need to schedule a play off match.
E came with her "do it m'self" attitude and refused any instruction.
She was bound and determined, though, to get that ball in the hole with her stick no matter how many times she had to hit it
or how many times she had to place the ball next to the hole so she could hit it in with her stick.
L started out great for about the first two holes.
Then she got distracted with rolly polies..
singing in her "microphone" (the putting stick), modeling on the course,
and who knows what else.
All in all it was a fun experience that we won't repeat as a family for some time.

Salad anyone?

E loved Grandma's salad so much that we just gave her the serving bowl to clean out. She was in heaven!

A day for fun

We have spent so much time lately driving around, looking at houses that I declared today to be a play day. We all needed a break. So, the kids and I headed to the play pool. Since the kids are reading for the library reading program this summer, they each got a free pass to the pool.
D and E are just waiting for mommy.
E poses before we go play in the pool.
Mushroom fun
E enjoys water she can walk around in
All good swimmers who play hard must stop for lunch so we did just that!! And then got back in for more play time. It was a great morning!

Amazing Grace Race

I got to join some girls from my home team and we entered an amazing race...similar style as the tv show just on a much much smaller scale.
We are ready to go. We had no idea what we were getting into, but it turned out to be a blast! We started with a one mile run and then climbing through cargo nets, archery shooting, jump roping, brain teasers, zip line and crazy lap swim, more brain teasers, more rope climbing, life saver passes, balloon obstacle course and...
a final run to the finish all tied together with bandanas.
The funny part is that we won first place in the womens three member teams. Our prize...a rubber chicken!!

Fun in Austin

The kids and I headed to Austin for the start of summer!! I needed a break from keeping the house "show ready" and the kids were just ready for some fun in the sun!
L is in the boat and all smiles!
E is taking this ride quite seriously and holding on tight!
D enjoys the time with his cousins. In fact, all three kiddos had a blast with their cousins.
We stopped at the sand bar since the water is so low. The kids love to play in the sand and run in and out of the water. Here E is going to figure out how to use her noodle.

I believe L is getting ready to climb on her noodle!
D is off...
We also got to the pool, which required some different gear.
E quickly got used to her floaties and was Miss Independent.
It did get chilly at times!
E all wrapped up.
L staying warm.
We even took a picnic dinner one night to the pool.
